About The Position
Newton Centre Dental is seeking a Part-Time Registered Dental Hygienist for 2-3 days per week to join their established Newton practice. This role offers flexibility without compromising income, clinical standards, or the quality of the workday. The position provides a highly competitive rate in an environment focused on quality care, not accelerated hygiene. The hygienist will join an established practice with a full schedule and loyal patient base from day one, allowing focus on exceptional patient care.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher from an accredited dental hygiene program
- Active Massachusetts Dental Hygienist license
- Current CPR certification
- Local anesthesia certification required or willingness to obtain
- 1+ year of experience preferred; motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply
- Strong clinical and patient education skills
- Professional, compassionate communication style
- A commitment to providing thorough, individualized care
Responsibilities
- Provide preventive and therapeutic hygiene services, including cleanings, scaling and root planing, and fluoride treatments
- Perform periodontal assessments and maintain accurate charting
- Capture and interpret digital x-rays
- Educate patients on oral hygiene, periodontal health, and preventive care
- Conduct head, neck, and oral cancer screenings
- Identify periodontal and restorative needs and communicate findings with the dentist
- Build meaningful relationships with established patients
- Collaborate with doctors and team members to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered care
- Maintain accurate records and uphold OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
