Responsibilities

Provide dental cleanings, including prophylaxis, scaling, and root planing.
Conduct periodontal assessments and charting.
Capture and interpret dental radiographs (X-rays).
Administer preventive treatments such as fluoride and sealants.
Identify early signs of oral disease and promptly inform the dentist.
Educate patients about oral hygiene and preventive care.
Explain treatment plans to patients and reinforce the dentist’s recommendations.
Provide clear post-treatment instructions.
Maintain accurate, organized, up-to-date patient records.
Follow OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control protocols.
Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean operatory.
