Dental Hygienist - Part-time PT and FT Full-Time
About The Position

We’re seeking a skilled and compassionate Part-Time Dental Hygienist to join our Port Jefferson team. This is an ideal opportunity for a hygienist looking for consistency, flexibility, and a positive, team-driven environment. There is also an opportunity to expand into a full-time schedule by adding 1-2 days at nearby locations: Now Dental of Suffolk - Smithtown, Concerned Dental Care - Farmingville, Concerned Dental Care - Richmond Hill. Located in Port Jefferson Station, our modern practice features 8 fully equipped operatories, digital workflows, and a collaborative, multi-specialty environment. We provide a full range of services including general, cosmetic, restorative, orthodontic, endodontic, periodontic, and oral surgery care. Our team is known for creating a welcoming, efficient, and patient-focused experience where hygienists are supported, respected, and able to deliver high-quality care without feeling rushed.
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher from an ADA-accredited dental hygiene program (required)
- Active New York State dental hygiene license and CPR certification (required)
- 1+ year of experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first mindset
- Team-oriented, dependable, and detail-focused
Nice To Haves
- Local anesthesia certification (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive hygiene care including cleanings, scaling, root planing, and fluoride treatments
- Educate patients on oral health, prevention, and long-term care
- Capture and interpret digital x-rays
- Identify periodontal and restorative needs and collaborate with the dentist
- Conduct oral cancer screenings and thorough assessments
- Maintain accurate records and ensure OSHA/HIPAA compliance
- Create a comfortable, positive experience for every patient
