About The Position

Legends Dental is hiring a full-time Dental Hygiene Assistant in Waco, Texas. The Hygiene Assistant works directly with hygienists to support an accelerated schedule and help create comfortable, exceptional patient experiences. The role includes assisting hygienists, welcoming and preparing patients, taking X-rays, setting up instruments and equipment, sterilizing instruments, maintaining patient records, completing lab tasks, giving post-operative instructions, and keeping operatories clean and stocked. The practice combines the expertise of three dentists with advanced technology and a commitment to community care. Its equipment includes 3D CBCT imaging.

Requirements

Active Texas dental assistant license.
Dental Assistant training or school certification.
At least 2 years of clinical dental assisting experience.
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods.
Understanding of health and safety regulations.
Experience with digital software.
Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Assist the hygienists.
Welcome patients.
Take X-rays.
Prepare patients for treatments or checkups and ensure their comfort.
Select and set up instrumentation, equipment, and other dental materials as needed.
Sterilize instruments according to regulations.
Maintain accurate patient records.
Perform lab tasks as instructed.
Provide post-operative care instructions.
Maintain clean and stocked operatories.
