About The Position

Dental One Associates is seeking a Dental Hygiene Assistant in Springfield, Virginia, to support the clinical team and assist professional dental staff with treatment. The practice emphasizes comprehensive, personalized care, patient comfort, preventive oral health, and a supportive team environment. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience to be considered.

This is a full-time position with a Monday through Friday schedule from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. The role includes supporting dental hygienists during patient care, maintaining treatment rooms and instruments, documenting patient information, taking radiographs, and educating patients about oral hygiene and preventive care.

Requirements

• Prior dental assisting experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Radiology certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to patient care and comfort.

• Associate degree or certification in Dental Assisting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization.
• Assist dental hygienists during patient treatment.
• Update patient health histories and chart treatment progress.
• Expose and develop radiographs.
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Coordinate with clinical staff to manage inventory and sterilization of dental instruments.
• Support the hygienist with patient scheduling, treatment recommendations, and office recall systems.
• Perform routine tasks while ensuring compliance with industry regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
