Requirements

  • HSD or equivalent; preferred experienced with business preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a dental front office, administrative, or receptionist role.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, procedures, and insurance processes is a plus.
  • Friendly, upbeat, and dependable personality; strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and staff.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to verify insurance benefits and manage patient accounts, including collections when necessary.
  • Understanding of dental office workflow, infection control protocols, and PPE requirements.
  • Self-starter, critical thinker, and team player who can adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong knowledge of dental practice management system Open Dental preferred

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and assist them with checking in and out
  • Schedule appointments and management scheduling updates
  • Manage reminder system and coordinate follow-up visits
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records, manage digital forms, treatment notes, and insurance data; ensuring HIPAA compliance
  • Answer calls promptly, direct inquiries, and coordinate with clinical and administrative staff.
  • Confirm benefits, obtain pre-authorization when required, and communicate coverage details to patients.
  • Collect payments at the time of service, reconcile daily POS transactions, and manage collections.
  • Assist with tracking and ordering dental supplies as needed.
  • Maintain adherence to HIPAA, practice policies, and quality standards.
