About The Position

The Dental Claims Specialist manages and processes dental insurance claims, resolves claim issues, and supports clients while maintaining quality and integrity. This is a work-from-home role. The specialist is expected to stay professional, follow work ethics and the work schedule, complete tasks promptly, meet performance goals, and communicate with the manager about attendance issues.

Requirements

Strong verbal and written English and interpersonal skills.
Little to no accent when speaking.
Background in dental insurance or collections.
At least 3 years of hands-on collections experience.
Highly motivated and detail-oriented, with the ability to work independently in a remote position.
Outstanding organizational, time-management, and follow-up skills.

Responsibilities

Follow up on outstanding insurance claims and document and communicate each follow-up in the patient account using the track stat and commlog.
Send claims and supporting attachments to insurance companies.
Assess whether claim denials are valid and address them appropriately.
Generate OI reports and ensure they are completed monthly.
Resubmit and reprocess claims, including grievances and appeals.
Clear rejected claims weekly.
Update the weekly office tracker with payments posted, including check scans and EFTs, and indicate whether rejected claims have been addressed.
Complete all follow-ups assigned on office spreadsheets.
Generate EFT reports and retrieve EOBs from insurance portals for posting.
Post all insurance payments according to office preferences, upload the EOB, and apply the correct adjustment or write-off.
Identify insurance process updates or issues and communicate findings to the team.
