About The Position

Terry Reilly is hiring a Dental Assistant for its Boise dental location. The Dental Assistant performs chairside and other dental assisting duties, supports patient understanding of treatment plans and costs, and helps maintain clinic equipment, supplies, and infection-control practices. Duties are performed in accordance with certification and the Rules of the Idaho State Board of Dentistry.

Requirements

Considerable manual dexterity and sufficient mobility to perform assigned essential duties.
Willingness and ability to perform dental assisting duties described in the Idaho State Board of Dentistry Dental Assistant Practice, including radiographs and use of nitrous oxide.
Ability and willingness to carry equipment weighing approximately 40 pounds.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Knowledge and training in general dental assisting, endodontics, oral surgery, crown and bridge, and prosthetic dentistry.
Ability to work with the public and good communication skills.
Expanded Functions Certification.
Graduation from a Dental Assistant Program or comparable training and experience.

Responsibilities

Perform four-handed dentistry and pass instruments to the dentist.
Explain treatment plans and procedures to patients, including treatment costs.
Set up and break down for each patient encounter.
Sterilize instruments and maintain clinic inventory.
Assist with ordering supplies and maintaining equipment.
Take radiographs and perform expanded duties according to certification and the Rules of the Idaho State Board of Dentistry.
Follow infection-control policies and procedures.
Work proficiently with different providers and locations.
