About The Position

Management & Training Corporation (MTC) is hiring a Dental Assistant to work with medical professionals at the Otero County Processing Medical facility in Chaparral, New Mexico. The role supports the delivery of dental services in a safe and secure environment while helping non-citizens gain skills and treatment necessary for success upon release. The Dental Assistant assists the dentist with patient preparation and instruments, sterilizes equipment, maintains supplies and appointment schedules, and manages patient records securely and confidentially in accordance with applicable HIPAA rules. This is a full-time position paying $18.41 per hour, scheduled Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six months of clinical dental assistant experience.
Current certification or registration as a dental assistant in New Mexico or a compact state.
Current DANB Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) examination, or a board-approved radiation health and safety course with an integrated examination.
Current CPR certification.
Complete 30 hours of continuing education during each triennial renewal cycle.
Valid driver’s license in New Mexico or Texas and an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients in the chair and assist the dentist by handling required instruments, equipment, and dental plastics.
Sterilize instruments and keep the office stocked with required supplies.
Arrange and maintain the appointment schedule.
Maintain patient records and ensure the security and confidentiality of medical records in accordance with applicable HIPAA rules.
