About The Position

Saratoga Smiles is a full-service general dental practice in Saratoga Springs, New York. The practice is seeking a full-time Dental Assistant to join its growing team. The assistant works chairside with the dentist and clinical team to provide patient care, prepare treatment rooms and instruments, and help keep appointments and office operations running smoothly. The role includes clinical support, patient care, and administrative responsibilities. It is an in-person, hands-on clinical position involving occasional standing, bending, and lifting dental equipment.

Requirements

• X-ray certification.
• Previous clinical experience in a dental setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist chairside during procedures, including preparation and instrument support.
• Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials before appointments.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays) in accordance with regulations.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment according to infection-control protocols.
• Prepare impressions, models, and temporary restorations as needed.
• Welcome patients and prepare them comfortably for treatment.
• Review medical histories and keep patient records current.
• Provide post-operative instructions and patient education.
• Help patients feel at ease and address concerns during visits.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical notes.
• Manage inventory and keep dental supplies stocked.
• Support compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and state dental regulations.
