About The Position

Gentle Dental World is seeking a Dental Assistant in Queens, New York, to support its clinical team and provide a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. The Dental Assistant supports the office and professional dental staff with treatment, contributing to the practice’s mission of providing excellent dental care in the community. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience. This is a full-time role, five days per week, with Saturdays mandatory. The listed hourly pay range is $26–$30.

Requirements

Prior dental assisting experience.
Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or one year of on-the-job experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection-control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.
Assist dentists during procedures.
Welcome, comfort, and educate patients about oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
Follow infection-control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and comply with workplace regulations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake as needed.
Help the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.
