The Dental Assistant reports directly to the Office Manager. The role’s primary mission is to provide exceptional patient care, help patients understand proposed treatments, and provide seamless chairside assistance to the dentist. By building strong patient relationships and optimizing clinical workflows, the Dental Assistant contributes to office efficiency and doctor production. Key performance indicators include doctor and hygiene production and same-day procedures.

Responsibilities
- Welcome and seat patients, ensuring a comfortable and positive clinical experience.
- Update comprehensive health histories and accurately capture patient vital signs.
- Educate patients about dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral health.
- Prepare treatment rooms and clinical trays before the dentist enters.
- Provide four-handed chairside assistance for a wide variety of dental procedures.
- Take digital X-rays, capture impressions, and perform laboratory work.
- Perform permitted independent expanded-function tasks, such as seating crowns, adjusting dentures, and applying fluoride.
- Sterilize clinical instruments and follow infection-control protocols.
- Monitor inventory, order clinical supplies, and stock treatment rooms.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and upkeep on dental equipment.
