About The Position
The Dental Assistant assists the dentist in delivering patient care, organizes dental clinic equipment and materials, coordinates operating room cases, and assists staff dentists. The role also supports professional development by participating in in-services and continuing education programs. The Dental Assistant communicates with physicians, dentists, nursing staff, ancillary hospital personnel, patients, and patients’ families.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Virginia Dental Radiation Safety certificate.
- AHA BLS-HCP required.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist in delivery of patient care.
- Organize dental clinic equipment and materials.
- Coordinate operating room cases and assist staff dentists.
- Participate in in-services and continuing education programs to enhance professional development.
