Dental Assistant- Jail Main Clinic

About The Position
Provides clinical support to dentists by cleaning, sterilizing, and arranging instruments, equipment, and rooms; supporting the production of radiographs; maintaining necessary stocks and supplies; moving and monitoring patients; and generally opening and closing the clinic. The position is based at the Jail Main Clinic and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Requirements
- Current Dental Assistant registration with the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners.
- Current Heartsaver CPR course completion card within 90 days of hire and/or placement in the job from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, hospital staff, and the general public.
- Working knowledge of dental assisting techniques and equipment.
- Working knowledge of oral surgery instruments and reconstructive surgery on patients.
- Knowledge and skill in meeting the needs of age-related and handicapped patients.
- Skill in taking radiographs and blood pressure, performing D-sticks, cleaning and sterilizing equipment, and recognizing instrument names and the order in which instruments are used.
