About The Position

Mid America Health is seeking a Dental Assistant to join its Ohio team at Marion Correctional Institution in Marion, Ohio. This full-time position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The role offers a low-stress alternative to private practice dentistry, a focus on work/life balance, and the opportunity to treat an underserved population. The patient base is described as appreciative of the care provided. The position includes administrative and routine chairside duties involving preventive, restorative, extraction, and prosthodontic care. Endodontic work is very limited; orthodontics and crown-and-bridge work are not required. Administrative duties are a larger focus, and training in this area will be provided. Compensation is competitive at $19 or more per hour. A $1,000 sign-on bonus is currently available. Requirements

Current CPR for Healthcare Providers.
Active Ohio Dental Radiographer license.
Per ODRC policy, the facility is smoke-free.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience is strongly preferred.
A certificate from an accredited dental assisting program is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform administrative duties, which are a primary focus of the position; training is provided.
Perform routine chairside duties for preventive, restorative, extraction, and prosthodontic care.
Provide very limited endodontic care.
