About The Position

Gentle Dental World is seeking a Dental Assistant in Queens, New York, to support the clinical team and provide a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. The Dental Assistant supports the office and assists professional dental staff with treatment while contributing to the practice’s goal of providing excellent community dental care and creating positive patient experiences. Prior dental assisting experience is required for consideration. The position is full-time, five days per week, with Saturdays mandatory. Compensation is $26–$30 per hour. The role includes clinical support, patient care and education, radiography and diagnostic assistance, compliance with safety and confidentiality requirements, and maintaining accurate patient records and documentation.

Requirements

Prior dental assisting experience is required for consideration.
Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or one year of on-the-job experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
Available to work five days per week, including mandatory Saturdays.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
Welcome, comfort, and educate patients about oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
Follow infection control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and comply with workplace regulations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake as needed.
Help dentists manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.
