About The Position

Roman Shlafer DDS PLLC is seeking a caring and dependable Dental Assistant to support patient care and practice operations. Experienced assistants and applicants eager to learn are welcome. The role involves preparing treatment rooms and instruments, assisting the dentist during procedures, taking digital X-rays, helping patients understand oral hygiene and post-treatment care, and supporting front-desk, records, laboratory, and general office tasks. The practice offers a guaranteed hourly rate of $24 or more based on experience, along with paid vacation and holidays, insurance, retirement matching, and opportunities for career growth.

Requirements

• Knowledge of dental terminology and basic oral anatomy.
• Familiarity with common procedures, including fillings, crowns, extractions, root canals, and implants.
• Empathy, patience, and quick thinking.

• Professionalism, integrity, and a strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of dental assisting experience; the employer will train the right person.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and keep equipment ready for procedures.
• Assist the dentist chairside by anticipating needs and passing instruments.
• Take and process digital X-rays.
• Help patients feel at ease before, during, and after visits.
• Teach patients about oral hygiene and explain post-treatment care.
• Greet patients, schedule appointments, and assist with payment.
• Maintain accurate patient records.
• Support laboratory tasks and general office duties as needed.
