Dental Assistant
About The Position
Dental One Associates is seeking a Dental Assistant in Springfield, Virginia, to support the clinical team and provide a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. The role supports dentists during procedures, assists with patient care and education, performs radiography and diagnostic tasks, maintains records, and follows infection-control, confidentiality, and workplace safety requirements. The position is full-time, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The office uses advanced dental technology. Dental assistants are expected to maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection-control training as required by law.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of on-the-job experience.
- Required X-ray certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection-control training as required by law.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
- Welcome, comfort, and educate patients about oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
- Follow infection-control protocols, maintain patient confidentiality, and comply with workplace regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake when needed.
- Help the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.
