About The Position
The Dental Assistant assists dentists and dental hygienists in providing primary care dental services to patients at the clinic or in the mobile oral health unit. The position is also responsible for sterilizing, preparing, and controlling inventory of dental instruments and supplies, and maintaining proper infection control in all areas involving patient care.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate.
- Successful completion of a board-approved course in the Dental Practice Act.
- Coronal Polishing Certification.
- Successful completion of an accredited course in dental assisting.
- Successful completion of a board-approved course in X-Ray.
- Successful completion of a board-approved course in infection control.
- Valid BLS certification or higher, following American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross guidelines.
- Valid California Driver's License, if assigned to Mobile Units.
- Successful DOJ/FBI background clearance within 30 days of hire, if assigned to Mobile Units.
Nice To Haves
- Completion of an accredited course in dental assisting.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
