About The Position

Kids Dental Place and Orthodontics in East LA, California, is seeking a Dental Assistant to support the dentist and hygienist in providing high-quality, compassionate care to patients. The role supports the organization's mission of delivering dental, vision, and orthodontic care to children in underserved communities. This position is for Saturdays only and requires bilingual Spanish capability, as stated in the job title.

Requirements

Radiology education and training that meets state requirements.
Strong interpersonal skills, including a friendly, outgoing demeanor and the ability to actively listen to patients and parents.
Ability to multitask and complete dental tasks correctly and in a timely manner.
Current BLS CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of e-Clinical Works (eCW).
Previous experience working in a dental office.

Responsibilities

Collect and document clear, concise, and accurate patient records.
Obtain requested dental radiographs, including periapicals, bitewings, and panoramic images.
Write accurate and consistent notes and ensure chart notes match completed services.
Build friendly relationships with patients and parents and educate them about good oral health.
Organize and sterilize dental instruments and workstations according to OSHA standards.
Keep the practice clean and presentable, including cleaning restrooms and the patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
Perform other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality, compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.
