About The Position

Scharf Perio is seeking a Dental Assistant in Babylon, New York, to support the clinical team and professional dental staff in delivering patient care and treatment. The role contributes to a team-based office environment focused on excellent dental care and positive patient experiences. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience to be considered. The position is full-time, with hours Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The advertised hourly pay range is $25 to $28. Requirements

Prior dental assisting experience is required for consideration.
Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or one year of on-the-job experience.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
Welcome, comfort, and educate patients about oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
Follow infection control protocols, protect patient confidentiality, and comply with workplace regulations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake when needed.
Help the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.
