Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Dental Assisting Certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist during procedures.
• Transfer instruments, keep the treatment area clean and dry, and anticipate the dentist’s next steps.
• Take impressions and expose radiographs.
• Apply fluoride and place matrix bands.
• Fabricate and cement temporary crowns and space maintainers.
• Provide oral hygiene instruction and post-operative care advice.
• Perform prophylaxis for pediatric and special needs patients.
