Dental Assistant - Prosthodontist
About The Position
ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers is hiring a full-time Dental Assistant to support a Prosthodontist and the clinical team in advanced dental procedures, particularly dental implant treatments. The role involves providing chair-side assistance, preparing and sterilizing instruments, taking and processing dental x-rays, preparing materials for impressions and restorations, and helping patients feel comfortable and informed. The Dental Assistant also supports post-operative and oral hygiene education, prosthetic-team coordination, inventory, recordkeeping, scheduling, patient intake, and supply ordering. The position may assist in oral surgery, periodontics, and prosthodontics, while collaborating with other clinical staff to provide patient care.
Requirements
- Valid certifications that meet applicable state requirements.
- At least 2 years of previous experience in a dental assisting role.
- Strong manual dexterity and ability to handle dental instruments precisely.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Comfort with radiographic equipment and digital dental technology.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience with dental implants or prosthodontics is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with the Prosthodontist to assist in advanced dental procedures, particularly dental implant treatments.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment while following infection control standards.
- Provide chair-side assistance, anticipate the dentist’s needs, and keep the treatment area organized.
- Help patients feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit.
- Take dental x-rays, process radiographs, and assist with radiographic imaging.
- Prepare materials for impressions and restorations.
- Educate patients on post-operative care and general oral hygiene.
- Support the prosthetic team with inventory management, lab coordination, and recordkeeping.
- Perform office tasks such as scheduling appointments, receiving patients, maintaining records, and ordering supplies.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, including oral surgeons, hygienists, and Patient Education Consultants.
- Assist in specialized areas such as oral surgery, periodontics, and prosthodontics.
