About The Position

Smiles by Design is seeking a part-time Prosthodontist for its Hewlett, New York office. This role offers the opportunity to join an established practice with a strong referral base as the current prosthodontist prepares to retire at the end of 2026. The position is based exclusively in Hewlett, with a preferred schedule of Mondays and Thursdays. The incoming prosthodontist will transition into an existing, productive schedule and continue serving a well-established patient base referred by general dentists and an in-house periodontist.

The practice provides comprehensive, minimally invasive dental care using laser dentistry, digital scanners, CBCT imaging, and modern restorative and implant workflows. The prosthodontist will treat comprehensive rehabilitative and cosmetic cases as well as single-unit crowns, bridges, and other restorative dentistry, and is expected to participate with PPO plans. The experienced clinical team and collaborative provider network support comprehensive prosthodontic care. The periodontist performs most implant placements; selective implant placement by the prosthodontist is welcomed depending on experience and case selection.

Smiles by Design has two established locations and a loyal patient base. Its Hewlett community is predominantly Orthodox Jewish, and the practice values personalized, relationship-based care within the community. The role offers mentorship and a smooth transition with the current prosthodontist before retirement. Expected earnings are $2,200 or more per day, with long-term earning potential while working two days per week.

Requirements

• Prosthodontic residency training.
• Clinical strength and comfort treating both comprehensive prosthodontic cases and everyday restorative dentistry.
• Collaborative, patient-focused approach and interest in long-term relationships with patients and referring doctors.
• Willingness to participate with PPO insurance plans.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of clinical experience; GPR or AEGD experience is considered valuable.
• Local to the Long Island or New York area, preferably with an existing professional network.
• Easygoing, humble, and collaborative manner.
• Appreciation for personalized, relationship-based care in the predominantly Orthodox Jewish Hewlett community.
• Experience and appropriate case selection for selective implant placement.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive prosthodontic care, including larger rehabilitative and cosmetic cases.
• Treat single-unit crowns, bridges, and other restorative cases between comprehensive cases.
• Participate with PPO insurance plans.
• Build on the established referral base from general dentists and the in-house periodontist.
• Develop long-term relationships with patients and referring doctors.
• Collaborate with the clinical team and provider network.
• Perform selective implant placement when appropriate based on experience and case selection.
