About The Position

Smiles by Design is seeking a part-time Prosthodontist for its Hewlett, New York office. The role offers the opportunity to take over an established prosthodontic schedule and referral base as the current prosthodontist prepares to retire at the end of 2026. The incoming provider will treat comprehensive rehabilitative and cosmetic cases as well as single-unit crowns, bridges, and other restorative cases, including participation with PPO plans.

The position is based exclusively in the Hewlett office, with Mondays and Thursdays preferred. The provider will work in a collaborative clinical environment with in-house general dentists and a periodontist, an experienced clinical team, fully equipped operatories, and technology including laser dentistry, digital scanners, and CBCT imaging. The periodontist performs most implant placement; selective placement by the prosthodontist is welcome depending on experience and case selection. Mentorship and a transition period with the current prosthodontist are available before retirement.

Requirements

• Prosthodontic residency training.
• Comfort treating both comprehensive prosthodontic cases and everyday restorative dentistry.
• Interest in participating with PPO insurance plans.
• Collaborative, humble, patient-focused approach and interest in building long-term relationships.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of clinical experience; GPR or AEGD experience is considered valuable.
• Local to the Long Island or New York area with an existing professional network.
• Experience and case selection suitable for selective implant placement.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive prosthodontic, rehabilitative, and cosmetic dental care.
• Treat single-unit crowns, bridges, and other restorative cases between comprehensive cases.
• Participate with PPO insurance plans.
• Collaborate with general dentists, the in-house periodontist, and the clinical team.
• Build long-term relationships with patients and referring doctors.
• Perform selective implant placement when appropriate based on experience and case selection.
