About The Position

Carolina Orthodontics and Children's Dentistry is seeking an orthodontic clinical assistant to ensure patients consistently receive outstanding, individualized service at each treatment appointment. The practice provides orthodontic and children's dental care in a friendly, fun, state-of-the-art environment. The assistant provides chairside orthodontic care, patient and family guidance, and support for clinical and administrative workflows.

Requirements

Dental x-ray certification.

Responsibilities

Arrive at least 15 minutes before each clinical day and participate in the team morning meeting.
Provide a patient-friendly experience, bring patients back on time, and greet and acknowledge each patient by name.
Build relationships with patients and families by getting to know them individually over time.
Provide chairside orthodontic assistance, including photographs, panoramic and lateral cephalogram radiographs, impressions, iTero digital scanning, reties, wire changes, initial bracket placement and repositioning, expander placement and checks, aligner and retainer delivery and checks, and Essix retainer fabrication.
Use orthodontic terminology and abbreviations to enter clinical chart notes.
Use orthodontic practice management software to schedule the next visit chairside and help cover telephone duties for the administrative team when needed.
Run the clinical chair efficiently, seeing 12–15 patients per day in a timely manner.
Provide patients and parents with instructions throughout treatment, including guidance on expanders, braces adjustments, oral hygiene, aligners, and retainers.
Assist with instrument sterilization using cold-sterile, dry-heat, and autoclave methods.
Work with clinical and administrative team members to help the day run smoothly.
Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the doctor.
