About The Position

Espire is seeking an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) who is passionate about dental care and building trusting relationships with patients and team members. The role supports dentists and hygienists, helps provide excellent patient care, and contributes to a positive patient experience. The assistant prepares patients and treatment areas, assists with dental procedures, maintains equipment and supplies, documents patient information, and provides oral-health guidance and postoperative instructions. Training may include travel.

Requirements

• EDDA (Expanded Duties Dental Assistant) certification.
• Familiarity with dental equipment and instruments.
• Experience using digital technology and electronic medical records.
• Willingness and ability to participate in training, which may include travel.
• Willingness to build trust with patients and team members.
• Passion for dental care.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of Cerec, 3Shape, and intraoral scanning.
• Experience with sedation and dental implant placement and restoration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for dental work.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist with infection control and dental procedures.
• Assist dentists in managing medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
• Assist dental hygienists with procedures when necessary.
• Provide great patient care.
• Record treatment information in patient records.
• Expose dental X-rays for diagnostic purposes and care for dental X-ray equipment.
• Give patients information on dental hygiene, oral health care, and plaque control programs.
• Collect and record medical and dental histories and patient vital signs.
• Provide postoperative instructions as directed by the dentist.
• Care for dental equipment.
• Form preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusal registrations for mounting study casts.
• Order dental supplies and maintain dental equipment inventory.
• Fabricate temporary restorations and custom impressions from preliminary impressions.
