About The Position

Alliance Medical Center is hiring a Dental Assistant/Dental Sterilization Technician for its Healdsburg and Windsor Clinics. The role supports dental care teams by preparing and disinfecting operatories, sterilizing instruments, maintaining equipment and supplies, assisting with patient flow and limited chair-side tasks, and preparing laboratory cases. The position also includes reviewing treatment with patients and scheduling follow-up appointments as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Bilingual written and spoken Spanish and English.
Demonstrated sensitivity to diverse, multicultural, and low-income populations, and a strong desire to serve these communities.
Current CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with back-office procedures.
X-ray license.

Responsibilities

Prepare dental operatories for treatment, including disinfection and barrier protection.
Sterilize dental instruments, hand pieces, and procedure set-ups used in the dental clinic.
Set up trays and properly dispose of waste and linens.
Maintain and tag instruments and procedure set-ups, including lab equipment and burrs.
Operate and maintain autoclaves, ultrasonic units, and presoak stations.
Assist with maintenance of dental waterlines, distiller, vacuum lines, traps, and filters.
Maintain the dental laboratory.
Assist RDAs with patient flow, including room set-up and breakdown, room disinfection, seating patients, limited chair-side assistance as needed, and providing patient instructions as directed by the dentist or RDA.
Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor, such as traps, ordering, and amalgam waste.
Review treatment with patients and schedule follow-up appointments as needed.
Keep an accurate count of instruments.
Maintain equipment in good working condition and ensure rooms are properly stocked.
Prepare lab cases, including specific model work, and communicate with labs and vendors.
