The physical requirements are essential to chairside assisting and must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. They include extended periods sitting or standing, repeated bending and reaching, fine motor use of both hands, close-range vision and hearing, clear communication, lifting and moving supplies up to 25 pounds, and moving between work areas. The role involves wearing protective equipment throughout the shift and working around blood, saliva, radiation, disinfectants, and dental materials while following safety protocols. The hiring process includes a phone screen and an in-office working interview. The employer contacts prior employers for references, including questions about attendance, dependability, and teamwork; candidates should provide at least two supervisor references. Offers depend on satisfactory reference and background checks. New team members complete a 90-day introductory period.
