Dental Assistant II
About The Position
Lane & Associates Family Dentistry is hiring a Dental Assistant II in Southern Pines to support dentists in delivering exceptional patient care. The role includes chairside assistance, preparing patients and treatment rooms, maintaining operatory inventory and readiness, sterilizing instruments, following infection-control and safety procedures, and supporting patients during dental procedures. The Dental Assistant II also reinforces preventive care instructions, manages lab cases and tracking, exposes digital radiographs, takes preliminary impressions as needed, and contributes to a positive patient experience.
Requirements
- Dental Assistant Certification (required).
- State of North Carolina X-Ray Certification (required).
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift 15–20 lbs.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to anticipate the needs of patients and the dentist.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Computer proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist with all aspects of patient care.
- Reinforce preventive care instructions to patients.
- Seat and prepare patients for treatment.
- Support patients during dental procedures while ensuring their comfort and calm.
- Clean and disinfect operatories after each procedure.
- Prepare tray setups and sterilize instruments.
- Expose digital radiographs (X-rays).
- Take preliminary impressions as needed.
- Monitor lab cases to ensure they are ready for patient appointments.
- Maintain accuracy of the lab tracking system.
- Manage dental supply inventory and ensure operatories are ready.
- Follow OSHA guidelines and company safety policies.
- Assist with obtaining 5-star Google reviews through excellent service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
