About The Position

Hy-Vee Demonstrators bring products to life for customers by preparing and presenting samples, sharing product knowledge, answering questions, and suggesting ways to prepare or use products. They help make shopping more engaging and enjoyable while providing friendly customer service. The role is based in a fast-paced retail store environment and requires teamwork, attention to sanitation and store standards, and readiness to assist in other store areas as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables.
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
Ability to engage confidently with customers, offer helpful advice, and make product recommendations in a friendly, professional manner.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Nice To Haves

Less than six months of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make customer interactions positive.
Prepare products for sampling and offer samples to customers throughout the shift.
Answer customer questions about products and explain products, including suggestions for preparation and use.
Organize demonstration items and ensure adequate supplies are available.
Stock demonstration supplies and keep the work area clean and organized.
Follow proper sanitation procedures throughout the shift.
Answer telephone calls promptly and provide helpful customer service.
Work with co-workers to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as assigned.
Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
