About The Position
Hy-Vee Demonstrators bring products to life for customers by preparing and presenting product demonstrations, offering samples, sharing product knowledge, answering questions, and making suggestions. The role supports an engaging and enjoyable shopping experience while providing friendly customer service and working with store teams to support customer satisfaction. The position is based in a fast-paced retail store environment. Demonstrators are on their feet throughout their shifts and have daily exposure to dirt and noise, with occasional potential exposure to electrical hazards. Safety training is provided. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
- Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks involving a few concrete variables.
- Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
- Ability to engage confidently with customers, offer helpful advice, and make product recommendations in a friendly, professional manner.
- Ability to remain on one's feet throughout the shift.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen.
Nice To Haves
- Less than six months of similar or related work experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greet customers, learn their names, and make interactions positive.
- Prepare products for sampling and offer samples to customers throughout the shift.
- Answer customer questions about products and explain products, including preparation and use.
- Organize items needed for demonstrations and ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Stock demonstration supplies and keep the work area clean and organized.
- Follow proper sanitation procedures throughout the shift.
- Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to callers.
- Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Assist in other store areas as needed and take on assigned special projects.
- Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
- Report to work as scheduled and on time.
