About The Position

Hy-Vee Demonstrators bring products to life for customers by preparing and presenting product samples, sharing product knowledge, and making the shopping experience engaging. The role involves answering customer questions and recommending products, including suggestions for preparation and use. Demonstrators support customer satisfaction and a pleasant team environment, keep demonstration supplies and work areas organized, and follow sanitation, hygiene, dress, store, and safety requirements. They may assist in other store areas and take on special projects as assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience required.
Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables.
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
Ability to engage confidently with customers, offer helpful advice, and make product recommendations in a friendly, professional manner.

Nice To Haves

Less than six months of similar or related work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make customer interactions positive.
Prepare products for sampling and offer samples to customers throughout the shift.
Answer product-related questions, explain products, and suggest ways to prepare and use them.
Organize demonstration items and ensure adequate supplies are available.
Stock demonstration supplies and keep the work area clean and organized.
Follow proper sanitation procedures.
Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to callers.
Work with co-workers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other areas of the store and take on special projects as assigned.
Maintain personal hygiene and dress standards and follow Hy-Vee policies and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
