About The Position

Hy-Vee is seeking a personable and enthusiastic Demonstrator who enjoys customer service and sharing product knowledge. Demonstrators prepare and present product demonstrations, offer samples, answer customer questions, and make suggestions to help customers discover products. The role supports an engaging shopping experience and a positive, helpful environment for customers and coworkers. This is a fast-paced retail store position. The Demonstrator is on their feet throughout the shift and has daily exposure to dirt and noise, with occasional potential exposure to electrical hazards. Safety training is provided. Employment is contingent upon successfully completing a pre-employment drug screen.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables.
Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
Ability to engage confidently with customers, offer helpful advice, and make product recommendations in a friendly, professional manner.

Nice To Haves

Less than six months of similar or related work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service by greeting customers, learning their names, and making interactions positive.
Prepare products for sampling and offer samples to customers throughout the shift.
Answer product-related questions, explain products, and suggest ways to prepare and use them.
Organize demonstration items and ensure adequate supplies are available.
Stock demonstration supplies and keep the work area clean and organized.
Follow proper sanitation procedures throughout the shift.
Answer the telephone promptly and provide helpful service to callers.
Work with coworkers as a team to support customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other areas of the store and take on special projects as assigned.
Follow personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
