About The Position

McKenney Home Care is seeking caregivers, HHAs, and CNAs with hands-on dementia or Alzheimer’s caregiving experience to provide one-on-one care in private homes. The family-owned agency serves Sarasota and Charlotte County through its Venice office and matches caregivers with clients based on care needs, experience, availability, and location. The role supports people living with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other memory-related conditions. Care may include responding to confusion, memory loss, repetitive behaviors, agitation, anxiety, or resistance to care; using redirection and reassurance; maintaining familiar routines and a calm environment; assisting with personal care, transfers, ambulation, and fall prevention; observing and reporting changes; providing companionship and meaningful engagement; and following individualized care plans and family preferences. Schedules vary according to client needs and caregiver availability. Assignments may include day, evening, weekend, or overnight shifts; 12-hour shifts; and short or split shifts. Hours are not guaranteed. Caregivers work independently in private homes and have access to 24/7 office and nursing support. Applicants can interview before completing all healthcare credentials; the agency will explain and guide selected applicants through outstanding onboarding requirements.
