About The Position

The Demand Analyst manages and optimizes finished goods stock levels with a particular focus on aged and slow-moving inventory. This role combines analytical insight with commercial awareness to improve forecasting accuracy, support working capital control, and strengthen collaboration with customers. The Demand Analyst plays a key role in supporting both production and sales teams by providing data-driven insights that enhance stock control, reduce waste, and optimize ordering patterns.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical capability with experience in inventory or supply chain management.
  • Experience working with forecasting and demand planning processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and advanced formulas.
  • Experience using ERP or MRP systems to support inventory and demand planning.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to engage directly with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with an inquisitive and data-driven approach.
  • High attention to detail when managing stock data, reports, and financial impacts.
  • Proactive and solutions-focused mindset in addressing stock, demand, and process issues.

Responsibilities

  • Identify, analyze, and manage aged and slow-moving inventory, driving targeted reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor overall stock levels to maintain an optimal balance between product availability and open orders.
  • Recommend or flag stock for disposal to minimize obsolescence and reduce waste.
  • Analyze customer order trends and forecasting behavior to improve stock planning accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for customers to move to stock programs based on their order patterns.
  • Act as the key contact for customers operating under inventory-managed or forecast-driven agreements.
  • Review and challenge customer forecasts to ensure alignment with production plans and stock strategies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to customers to improve forecast accuracy and service levels.
  • Deliver data-driven insights to support commercial decisions around stock holding, service levels, and cost.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of stock decisions, including excess, obsolete, and slow-moving materials.
  • Support pricing, contract discussions, and customer negotiations with relevant stock and demand data.
  • Support month-end processes, including stock valuation, provisions for aged inventory, and related reporting.
  • Produce regular reports on stock health, including key performance indicators such as aged stock levels, forecast accuracy from customers, and service levels.
  • Identify opportunities to improve stock management processes, systems, and reporting.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and reduce waste.
