About The Position

Rumpke is a family-owned and operated waste and recycling company that provides services to residents, businesses, and communities. Delivery Truck Drivers deliver and/or remove waste and recycling carts and bins for customers, safely operate vehicles, and provide courteous customer service. The role requires compliance with applicable regulations and company policies, completion of delivery documentation and vehicle logs, and maintenance of work orders. Drivers may operate other truck types, assist with other projects or areas, and perform other assigned duties. The position does not manage employees.

Requirements

Ability to read and understand a map or GPS.
Excellent truck driving and maneuvering skills.
General knowledge of vehicle mechanics.
Ability to use small power tools for basic container repairs.
Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain one before hire.
Must be at least 19 years of age.
No more than three moving violations within the last two years.
Must not have any DUI or OVI convictions within the last five years, or two within the last ten years.
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Valid driver’s license, if applicable.
Must successfully complete pre-employment testing.
Must be able to read and speak English.

Nice To Haves

Waste industry experience is a plus.
One to two years of previous experience driving a large company van or truck is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate a truck and safely perform job duties in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and company policies.
Deliver waste and recycling carts and bins to customers and vendors.
Complete proper documentation for deliveries and removals.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and complete logs.
Maintain and update work orders.
Interact professionally with coworkers and internal and external customers, providing excellent customer service.
Assist with other projects or areas as needed.
Operate other types of trucks as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
