About The Position

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:The Material Handler performs routine material handling tasks as outlined below. This role also functions as a backup CDL driver, supporting transportation needs during absences, peak workloads, or operational requirements.Delivery Responsible for loading or assisting in loading and securing materials on trucks daily. Assists in verifying the quantities of materials for accuracy. Assists driver in locating the job site. Spot driver when backing up into a job site. Direct driver in placement of the conveyor. Assists in loading and/or securing materials on trucks daily by using crane, conveyor, piggybacks and/or by hand.Roof Top Responsible for climbing up to a 40-foot ladder to deliver materials on a pitch of up to an 8/12 roof. Ensure proper stacking and distribution in the placement of materials on the roof.Equipment Ensure truck is properly equipped for delivery including filling cooler, strapping materials, loading ladder, and other as needed.OSHA Responsible for OSHA compliance as it relates to oneself and t companyInventory Assist in taking inventory quarterly or as needed.Maintenance Maintain warehouse, yard, and trucks in a proper presentable manner. Minor repairs as needed.Safety Responsible for the safe handling of materials including wearing back brace, gloves, shoes, and other safety devices as appropriate. Reports indirectly to the Safety Coordinator regarding fleet, safety, and staff.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Delivery Material Handlers must possess the following qualifications, or their equivalent as determined by theBranch and Warehouse Manager.Education, Experience, and Licensing1. Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location.2. Knowledge of roofing material and/or construction and distribution.3. Valid state CDL Class A or B Driver’s License with clean driving record including:a. Less than three points or one violationb. No DUI or DWI within the last three (3) yearsc. No revocation or suspension of Driver’s LicenseKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:1. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.2. Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climb3. Must lift up to 100 pounds of material continually for up to two hours at a time.4. Ability to work on multi-story buildings at various heights.5. Ability to work in hot, cold, rain, or shine.6. Requires a high degree of attention to ensure proper delivery while preventing damage to materialsand equipment.7. Ability to maintain loyalty to Gulfeagle Supply8. Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner. Tact and diplomacy requiredin dealing with customer personnel at delivery points.9. Ability to handle all functions of the job in a safe manner.10. Requirements
