Delivery Lead / Scrum Master

Aspenview Technology Partners

About The Position

The Delivery Lead / Scrum Master owns the working relationship between AspenView and its client and is accountable for client-facing delivery reporting, governance, and decisions. This senior, independent role serves an integrated delivery team across multiple workstreams and represents the team to business stakeholders, source-system owners, and executive sponsors. Success involves making delivery transparent, enabling timely decisions, maintaining trustworthy metrics, and surfacing problems early. The role is expected to question whether the right work is being built and to contribute judgment rather than simply execute tasks. The role leads stakeholder management, client reporting and governance, and delivery execution. It owns the client steering committee, reporting cadence, delivery metrics, commercial visibility, risk and issue tracking, and escalation process. It also runs the two-week sprint cadence, facilitates Scrum ceremonies, administers the engagement backlog in Azure DevOps, coordinates cross-functional dependencies, removes blockers, and drives measurable improvements. The position operates as the senior delivery lead without a Project Manager layer above it.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • At least 8 years leading delivery on enterprise data, BI, or analytics programs, including at least 4 years client-facing at senior stakeholder level.
  • Demonstrable ownership of a client reporting and governance line, with concrete examples of steering committees run and decisions driven through them.
  • Track record managing senior business stakeholders through contested prioritization, holding scope, and surfacing trade-offs.
  • Proven experience running delivery for an integrated team of 8–12 engineers and specialists across multiple workstreams.
  • Demonstrated independence operating as the senior delivery lead on an engagement.
  • Hands-on Azure DevOps proficiency with boards, backlogs, pipelines, and release management sufficient to administer the backlog and pull reporting data directly.
  • Strong command of Scrum practices and delivery metrics, including velocity, cycle time, and defect tracking.
  • Excellent written and verbal English, including the ability to produce a self-contained executive summary.
  • Comfort communicating in both executive steering committees and technical team stand-ups.
  • Ability to hold and communicate a point of view to senior stakeholders and reopen decisions when new evidence warrants it.
  • Ability to question processes and standards, surface risk and weak requirements promptly, argue from evidence, and strengthen team practices.
  • CSM, PSM I, or equivalent Scrum Master certification.
  • Must be permanently authorized to work in their country of residence and not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Agile coaching credentials and a record of measurably raising team agile maturity, such as reducing cycle time or improving predictability.
  • Experience on manufacturing, supply chain, or industrial operations data programs, including MES, ERP, plant analytics, OEE, scrap, or OTIF dashboards.
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft data and BI stack, including Dynamics 365, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with KPI and data governance councils and running them alongside delivery.
  • Experience in export-controlled or regulated delivery environments and their audit-trail discipline.
  • Experience with scaled agile frameworks such as SAFe, LeSS, or Nexus, and leading distributed teams for U.S. enterprise clients.
  • Advanced certifications such as A-CSM, CSP-SM, PSM II/III, SAFe SSM, SAFe RTE, or PMP.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of accountability to the client for delivery and represent the integrated team to business stakeholders, source-system owners, and executive sponsors.
  • Build relationships across client business functions, including manufacturing, finance, sales, operations, and procurement.
  • Make competing priorities and trade-offs visible and drive prioritization decisions; hold the line on scope while offering reasons and alternatives.
  • Flag slippage, scope pressure, and dependency risks before they are discovered by the client.
  • Prepare stakeholders for sprint reviews and validation sessions and coach participants new to sprint cadences.
  • Communicate delivery status appropriately to audiences ranging from CFOs and IT directors to data engineers.
  • Own client steering committee preparation and follow-through, including agendas, materials, recorded decisions, actions, owners, and dates.
  • Run weekly delivery status reporting, monthly executive summaries, and quarterly reviews of outcomes against commitments.
  • Report against velocity, cycle time, escaped defects, validation pass rate, and delivery against committed scope.
  • Surface scope changes, budget burn, and change requests as they arise.
  • Maintain and drive a live risk and issue register with owners, dates, and status; operate the defined escalation path to AspenView Delivery Leadership and the client sponsor.
  • Write concise executive summaries and turn sprint metrics into an evidence-based delivery health narrative.
  • Run the two-week sprint cadence, including intent capture, build-in-the-open delivery, mid-sprint validation, and replanning.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, and backlog refinement for the integrated AspenView and client team.
  • Own the engagement backlog in Azure DevOps, including backlog hygiene, prioritization with the technical lead and business analyst, capacity planning, and velocity tracking.
  • Coordinate dependencies across data engineering, BI, security, DevOps, UX, and data science.
  • Remove technical, organizational, and cross-team blockers and escalate when needed.
  • Drive vertical-slice delivery so each sprint produces a thin but complete slice that stakeholders can validate.
  • Run retrospectives that result in tracked, measurable improvements and surface recurring systemic impediments to AspenView leadership.
  • Operate independently as the senior delivery lead without a Project Manager layer above the role.
