About The Position

Ajax Distributing Co., INC is a family-owned beverage distribution company serving Clarksville, Paris, Memphis, and surrounding areas. The Delivery Helper assists delivery driver personnel in delivering beverage products to retail accounts on a predetermined route for advance sales. The role is based in Clarksville, Tennessee, and is a full-time position working Monday through Friday for 40 or more hours per week.

The position supports product quality, customer service, and merchandising. It ensures products reach scheduled accounts in good condition and on time, and that products are rotated according to supplier requirements and a first-in, first-out process. The Delivery Helper must follow local, state, and federal beverage codes, keep the truck cab and bays neat and clean, and perform other similar or related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Able to regularly lift products weighing 25 to 50 pounds and lift up to 170 pounds when handling keg products.
• Able to push or pull carts weighing up to 800 pounds when loaded.

Nice To Haves

• Commercial Class A license or permit preferred, but not required.
• Experience in beverage delivery preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist delivery driver personnel with delivering beverage products to retail accounts on a predetermined route for advance sales.
• Comply with quality assurance policies and procedures.
• Maintain strong customer rapport, provide quality service, and effectively merchandise products.
• Maintain product quality through scheduled rotation without direct supervision.
• Deliver products to scheduled accounts in good condition and within scheduled delivery times.
• Rotate brands and packages in store back rooms on a first-in, first-out basis in accordance with supplier requirements to prevent past-dated products from reaching consumers.
• Abide by local, state, and federal beverage codes.
• Provide shelf merchandising to stores upon request by a manager or customer.
• Keep the truck cab and bays neat and clean at all times.
• Provide positive product exposure through quality service to support increased product sales and market share.
• Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.
