About The Position
The Delivery Expert delivers products by car to customers within a designated delivery area and performs general store team-member duties. The role offers a flexible schedule and opportunities for advancement, including into management. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. Team members operate store equipment; stock ingredients and supplies; prepare products; receive and process telephone orders; take inventory and complete paperwork; and clean equipment and the facility. The position involves customer and coworker communication, order entry, handling money, and navigating to customer addresses. Delivery work may include delivering flyers and door hangers. The job requires working in a range of store and outdoor conditions, including cold and hot temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot equipment, sharp edges, moving mechanical parts, and varying weather. Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting for paperwork, lifting and carrying supplies and products, pushing or pulling trays, climbing stairs, bending, crouching, squatting, and reaching. Delivery may require navigating five or more flights of stairs.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
- Must be able to read a map, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and coworkers.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly, including making correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Ability to use a computer keyboard or touch screen to enter orders.
- Must be able to perform the described physical tasks, including lifting deliveries weighing up to 50 pounds and navigating stairs during deliveries.
- Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality standards, deal with people, and make judgments and decisions.
Responsibilities
- Deliver products by car to customers within the designated delivery area and carry products to customers’ doors.
- Deliver flyers and door hangers.

- Communicate with customers and coworkers in person and by telephone to process orders.
- Enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen and handle monetary change accurately.
- Navigate to addresses within the delivery area, including adverse terrain and multi-story buildings.
- Unload and stock deliveries, including lifting cases weighing up to 50 pounds and placing them on shelves.
- Perform other store duties such as moving trays, cleaning, and occasional maintenance tasks.
