About The Position

The Delivery Driver operates equipment, stocks ingredients and supplies, prepares products, receives and processes telephone orders, takes inventory, and completes related paperwork. The role includes cleaning equipment and the facility approximately daily, delivering products by car to customers’ doors, and distributing flyers and door hangers. On-the-job orientation and training are provided. The position involves working in a food-service environment with varying temperatures, food-related odors and dust, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts. Most tasks are performed standing, with short-distance walking and delivery travel. Work also involves lifting and carrying supplies and products, pushing or pulling trays on dollies, occasional climbing and stair navigation, and frequent reaching, bending, and other physical tasks.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
Ability to comprehend and provide correct written instructions.
Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers to process orders by phone and in person.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed, and make correct monetary change.
Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying product.
Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality-control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
Ability to lift and handle cases weighing up to 50 pounds and perform the physical activities described in the posting.
Must be able to work in conditions involving varying and sometimes adverse weather, temperature changes, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
Must be able to perform delivery duties that may involve navigating five or more flights of stairs.

Responsibilities

Operate all equipment.
Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
Prepare product.
