About The Position

Flowerama delivery drivers provide friendly, efficient, organized, and timely delivery of flowers and gifts to designated recipients. Drivers represent the store as ambassadors while driving a branded van and are expected to deliver products safely, carefully, and respectfully, provide excellent customer service, and communicate delivery issues promptly to a manager or supervisor. The role includes maintaining the delivery van, documenting its condition and maintenance, processing delivery paperwork and confirmations, checking in and stocking freight, and helping with additional store duties as assigned. Drivers follow posted schedules and work until the last delivery is made. Delivery operations run seven days a week; part-time drivers may be expected to be on call for coverage or additional needs, and hours may vary with daily and seasonal demand.

Requirements

Maintain an acceptable Personal Motor Vehicle Record in accordance with DOT requirements.
Strong command of the English language and legible handwriting.
Ability to lift and transport up to 60 pounds unassisted.
Ability to work in temperatures as low as 32°F and drive in seasonal temperature and weather fluctuations.
Maintain a neat appearance and wear professional, visible Flowerama logo apparel provided by the company.
Follow traffic laws, including Iowa vehicle laws, and never text while driving.
Do not smoke in the vehicle.
Demonstrate efficiency, a positive attitude, and excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver Flowerama products safely, respectfully, and on time while following traffic laws and Iowa vehicle laws.
Provide positive, professional customer service and interact appropriately with recipients and the public.
Communicate delivery concerns and other issues promptly to the manager or person in charge of deliveries.
Complete delivery sheets, trip sheets, delivery confirmations, recipient and delivery-time records, and documentation for undeliverable items and call tags.
Contact the store hourly to assess delivery needs and check with the store before closing about next-day and timed deliveries.
Maintain the van’s cleanliness, fuel level, and fluids; complete daily maintenance logs and morning checklists; and return fuel receipts to the store.
Check the maintenance log daily and report or address maintenance needs as instructed.
Check in, inventory, price, and stock freight; transfer product between Iowa stores when assigned.
Assist with secondary store duties, which may include changing marquees, breaking down boxes, sweeping and removing garbage, setting up tents, unloading trucks, and assisting with seasonal shipments.
Maintain a neat appearance in accordance with the dress code and wear provided visible logo apparel.
Follow Flowerama policies and management instructions; do not smoke in the vehicle or text while driving.
Lift and transport items weighing up to 60 pounds without assistance and work in a walk-in cooler and changing seasonal weather conditions.
