About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area and distributes flyers and door hangers. The role also includes general store team member duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, receiving and processing telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

The position requires maintaining cost, inventory, and cash controls; following company policies and procedures; and supporting food management, customer relations, scheduling, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability. Drivers may make several deliveries per shift and must navigate varied terrain, including stairs and other delivery sites, while carrying products. The work involves frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, and use of hands, as well as lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers and to process orders by phone and in person.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the delivery area.
• Ability to navigate adverse terrain, multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products.
• Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality standards, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs, bending, crouching, and reaching.
• Ability to lift and handle deliveries weighing up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within the designated delivery area.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Operate store equipment and stock ingredients from delivery areas to storage, work areas, and walk-in coolers.
• Prepare products and receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Maintain cost controls, inventory control, cash control, and customer relations.
• Follow company policies and procedures and contribute to food management, scheduling, store cleanliness, marketing, and profitability.
