PTH Delivery Driver - AEO
About The Position
This position involves operating automotive equipment for the safe and prompt collection and delivery of library materials by cargo trucks. The role is responsible for the safe operation of automotive equipment in loading, collecting, delivering, and unloading library and other materials within the library system. Deliveries typically follow established routes within the County, but may extend to other locations, requiring knowledge of routes within the County and adjacent areas. Responsibilities include fueling and cleaning vehicles, but not repairs or preventive maintenance, although emergency adjustments may be necessary. The position also provides assistance during building and weather emergencies to ensure the building is safe and accessible for the public and staff. Additionally, the role may assist with building and grounds maintenance in the absence of a custodian. Work is performed under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor.
Requirements
- Experience in the operation and servicing of light and medium cargo trucks.
- Educational training that results in knowledge of simple arithmetic and a reading and writing level necessary for successful job performance.
- Possession of a valid non-commercial class C motor vehicle operator's license issued by the State of Maryland.
- Proof of a good driving record.
