About The Position
The Delivery Driver operates equipment, stocks ingredients from the delivery area into storage and work areas, including the walk-in cooler, prepares product, and receives and processes telephone orders. The role includes taking inventory, completing related paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility approximately daily. The driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors and distributes flyers and door hangers. The position requires navigating the designated delivery area, including adverse terrain, multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying product. The driver also communicates with customers and coworkers in person and by phone to process orders and may enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
Requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands or fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and coworkers in person and by phone.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain and carry product at delivery sites.
