Safely, efficiently, and courteously deliver petroleum products to residential and commercial customers. The Delivery Driver reports to the Delivery Driver Manager and follows federal and state regulations, company policy, and established delivery standards, with an emphasis on customer service, efficiency, and productivity. Drivers maintain a safe, clean, and properly equipped vehicle; communicate with dispatchers, routing specialists, customers, and other employees; and promptly report customer concerns, accidents, spills, overfills, wrong deliveries, and other problems. The role includes participating in a night and weekend on-call schedule and may involve priming furnaces for customers out of oil or performing a leak test and lighting a pilot for customers out of propane. Drivers may also cross-train or support other departments as needed. About half of the work is outdoors, making deliveries in all weather conditions and temperatures ranging from below zero to above 90 degrees. The work involves exposure to petroleum-product fumes and moderate truck and pump noise and vibration. Physical activity includes frequent standing, walking, sitting, hand and arm use, talking, and listening; occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and climbing; and pulling a delivery hose weighing up to 75 pounds for up to 150 feet, an average of 30 times daily. Employees may occasionally help move objects heavier than 75 pounds.
