About The Position
The Delivery Driver operates store equipment; stocks ingredients from the delivery area into storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler; prepares products; receives and processes telephone orders; takes inventory and completes related paperwork; and cleans equipment and the facility approximately daily. The role also involves delivering products by car to customers' doors and distributing flyers and door hangers. The position requires accurate and quick basic arithmetic, including making correct monetary change; verbal, writing, and telephone skills for taking and processing orders; precise, rapid motor coordination; and the ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen. The driver must understand and provide written instructions, communicate with customers and co-workers in person and over the phone, read maps and locate addresses within the delivery area, and navigate varied terrain such as multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites while carrying products.
Requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders over the phone and in person.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying product.
