About The Position
The Delivery Driver operates equipment, stocks ingredients from the delivery area into storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler, and prepares products. The role also receives and processes telephone orders, takes inventory, completes related paperwork, and cleans equipment and the facility approximately daily. The driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors and distributes flyers and door hangers. The job involves finding addresses within the designated delivery area and navigating varied terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products. The driver also uses communication, arithmetic, coordination, and computer-entry skills to process orders and interact with customers and co-workers.
Requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying products.
