About The Position

The Delivery Specialist delivers purchased merchandise to customers within the assigned market while meeting delivery and quality standards. The role provides a positive customer experience by building trusted relationships, offering advice, ensuring safe product delivery, resolving problems, and handling product returns as needed. The position requires safe vehicle operation, careful product handling, timely deliveries, and coordination with customers, field sales, and store personnel.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years old.
Have at least 3 years of driving experience and meet motor vehicle record (MVR) check requirements.
Have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Hold a DOT Medical Card as required.
Have the physical and mental stamina to move throughout the store and outdoor areas quickly and safely.
Be able to push and pull merchandise up to 2,000 pounds with appropriate material-handling equipment.
Be able to operate job-related equipment efficiently, safely, properly, and accurately.
Be able to lift and move large, bulky, and/or heavy merchandise and safely load and unload a delivery truck.
Be able to use Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Calendar.
Have strong time-management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Have strong customer-service skills and a professional, friendly attitude.
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members and customers.
Read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation.
Navigate using GPS systems and maps.
Successfully complete required training.
Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

Previous truck delivery experience.
Experience with a hand truck, dolly, pallet jack, and forklift.
High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Make timely deliveries, meeting or exceeding scheduled delivery times.
Operate and maintain a clean, organized delivery vehicle and delivery equipment, including a trailer when needed.
Load, unload, and organize products safely and efficiently.
Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and readiness.
Maintain accurate delivery records and document any issues.
Communicate with customers about delivery updates and concerns.
Provide exceptional, friendly customer service.
Partner with the field sales team and store personnel to meet customer needs.
Handle products carefully to prevent damage and ensure safe transport.
Follow traffic laws and company policies for safe driving.
Handle returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries as needed.
